HE French trade deficit It slowed down its growth again in February, thanks in particular to the fall in the energy bill, which stood at 11,000 million euros, customs announced on Friday.
The January trade deficit was revised sharply lower compared to previous estimates, to 12.3 billion euros instead of 13.6 billion, already beginning a pause after a record year of 2022 with a record deficit of 164 billion euros. Imports were 63.6 billion euros and exports 50 billion euros, the customs office said.
Cumulatively for 12 consecutive months, France’s trade deficit, which had reached an all-time high of €164 billion in 2022, continues to deteriorate to €169.2 billion.
