A better tourist season than in 2019?

Jean-François Rial explained that “due to inflation, the revenue is great” as the cost of traveling to ten “flagship countries” for Voyageurs du Monde increased by 15-20% compared to 2019.
However, “business tourism is having a little more trouble getting back to the level it was” before the health crisis and Chinese tourists are still largely absent, particularly in France, explains Jean-François Rial, who is also the president of tourism in Paris. office.

In Paris, “the last occupancy rates I saw were between 85% and 90%,” he says, adding that they may have dropped a bit because of the images of violence and garbage fires that marked the demonstrations against the reform of pensions.
To cope with the influx of tourists, the tourism sector continues to face recruitment difficulties, but “in general, the situation has improved compared to last year,” according to Arnaud Bennet.
The president of Snelac is however cautious: “We will have to see how the season goes, there are still places available in the places,” he qualifies, acknowledging that the situation continues to be tense in restaurants and hotels.
