Business organizations and various unions have concluded a national interprofessional agreement aimed at facilitating the consideration of ecological transition issues in companies, we learned on Wednesday from Medef.
This agreement is “a valuable and useful operational roadmap, effective, so that social partners can consider and accelerate the ecological transition within companies and branches, as well as in the territories”, declared Tuesday night the representative of Medef Hubert Mongon, leader of the negotiation that lasted nine months.
The document is “non-regulatory” and does not include new advances in terms of the rights of workers or their representatives, we learned from consistent sources.
social democracy
In a “particularly complex” social context, “we can once again demonstrate the full effectiveness of social democracy and the ability of the social partners to dialogue effectively over a long period of time and on the main social problems”, he says with congratulations. Hubert. Mongon.
The Medef representative, who negotiated on behalf of all the representative employer organizations, specified that this national interprofessional agreement (ANI) was open to the signing of unions and employer organizations until April 24 and had already obtained favorable opinions from the CFDT, the CFTC and Force Ouvrière, as well as a “still reserved” position of the CFE-CGC, as the CGT did not want to join this agreement”.
It is “a text that reorganizes the information intended for the actors of companies and professional branches so that they appropriate the subject”, explained Luc Mathieu, negotiator of the CFDT.
In particular, the agreement must make it possible to “identify levers for change in the framework of an enlightened social dialogue on the ecological transition” and “integrate environmental issues into collective negotiations”.
Among the practical actions planned, “training of personnel representatives in environmental matters”, an “employee mobility plan to optimize employee travel” or even “collaborations with NGOs and associations”
“Before attacking a text that would be binding beyond what the law establishes, let’s try to ensure that everything that is provided for in the law already applies to companies, because today it is not like that. We are very, very far from the truth. “, explained Luc Mathieu.
