Medef election: Dominique Carlac’h wants debate and ideas

The current vice president of Medef and candidate for the presidency of the organization summons BFM Business to a debate with the other two candidates Patrick Martin and Pierre Brajeux.

Dominique Carlac’h, current vice president of Medef and candidate for the presidency of the employers, judged this Wednesday in BFM Business that the campaign lacked debate.

The one who is also a spokeswoman for Medef wrote last Friday on this issue to the other declared candidates, the vice president of Medef Patrick Martin, the vice president of the French Federation of Security Pierre Brajeux and the president of Medef Alsace Olivier Klotz, she said, confirming information of echoes.

“We absolutely have to have a debate so that Medef can (…) demonstrate that it has ideas”, while, on the contrary, “if they tell us ‘nothing is wrong, it is already an inevitable conclusion’, this will weaken Medef,” warned Dominique Carlac’h, who runs an innovation consultancy. Candidates have until May 5 to collect 150 endorsements.

“We have to be able to talk, debate among ourselves”

“We will be on May 10 when we will be in the first phase, we will not have debated yet. Personally I find that it is insufficient, I think we should be able to talk, debate among ourselves, before May 10. Because after, from May 10 to May 6, July, it will go very, very quickly”, estimated Dominique Carlac’h. “Isn’t the sponsorship period already an election after all?”, he wondered.

“It would still be a shame if we were to organize all this backlog of candidacies and campaigns at that point only to, in the end, tell ourselves ‘all that for that’,” he added. Speaking in the echoesPierre Brajeux, another declared candidate, judged that “for the moment, the election is completely locked” and favors Patrick Martin.
