Pensions: more than 1.5 million protesters in France, 380,000 according to the Ministry of the Interior

Attendance is low. During the previous mobilization movement on April 6, the union had announced “almost two million” opponents of the reform on the streets.

For this 12th part of the demonstrations against the pension reform, more than 1.5 million people have been identified throughout France according to the CGT, 380,000 according to the Ministry of the Interior.

This is the lowest participation claimed by the union since the beginning of the social movement, such as during the day of Saturday March 11.

Demonstrations on Friday

Thus, while the proportion of strikers continues to decline, particularly in the transport sector, mobilization is also weakening in processions. On April 6, by the 11th day of the mobilization, the CGT had identified almost 2 million people on the streets. The Ministry of the Interior had announced for its part 570,000 protesters.

The decision of the Constitutional Council on the reform is expected on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Territorial intelligence expects this time 131 demonstrations throughout France, which could bring together 41,000 people according to a note consulted by BFMTV.
