The volume of sales of the Renault brand -which represents two thirds of the group’s sales, the other third is contributed by Dacia- increased by 8.6% during the first three months of the year to 353,545 units, passenger cars and vans, after a -9.4% in 2022.
After four consecutive years of falling sales
Last year, the loss of the Russian market following the invasion of Ukraine added to the impact of CEO Luca de Meo’s strategy to refocus on the most profitable markets and models in a bid to recover Renault’s financial position. This was the fourth consecutive year of falling sales for the group (-5.9%) and for the Renault brand.
During a press conference, the general manager of the Renault brand, Fabrice Cambolive, said that he expected the rebound in the first quarter to be confirmed in April, especially since “the level of the portfolio is not going down.” Renault will publish all group sales in volume and value on Thursday.
