Tax fraud: the Government wants to double the control staff

Ministers Gabriel Attal and Bruno Le Maire announced this morning an expansion of the fight against tax and social fraud in the coming weeks.

A few days after the enactment of the pension reform, the government is already planning other projects. Among these areas of work in which it intends to accentuate its performance is, in particular, social and tax fraud. Invited to the set of BFM TV, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, thus resumed the project of tracking the beneficiaries of social assistance who transfer it to accounts domiciled abroad, such as in Portugal or even in the countries of the Maghreb, all while asking airlines to track their movements.

Explaining wanting to defend the republican order, Bruno Le Maire recalled that “the social model is made to protect the most modest, against the accidents of life but not to send money illegally abroad.”

A plan presented in a few weeks

Earlier in the morning, Gabriel Attal had given the microphone of France Inter the government course on this topic of the fight against fraud. “I heard the French tell me ‘you ask us to work a little more to pay for the pension system, but if everyone worked, that would solve part of the problem'”, hence the reform of the RSA that is important to encourage and support more towards the resumption of employment,” he cited as an example.

The Minister of Public Accounts announced that he will present “in the coming weeks” a plan “with strong measures to fight more against tax and social evasion”: “Regarding tax evasion, I want to double the staff of the financial judicial investigation service which, in particular, carried out a major raid against banks a few days ago.
