Thales is the subject of an investigation by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF), we learned on Friday from a source familiar with the matter after information from franceinfo about the opening by the PNF of investigations into suspected corruption in the activities of the group in India. .
Thales strongly contests
According to franceinfo, the PNF has “opened an investigation to verify whether the financing circuits” described by an Indian intermediary named Sanjay Bhandari, who had filed a complaint against Thales in 2021 to claim payment of commissions that he considers owed before being dismissed in 2022 by the Commercial Court of Nanterre, “does not correspond to hidden orders”.
“Thales was never questioned by the PNF on this issue,” a spokeswoman for the advocacy group responded by email to Reuters. “Thales strongly denies Sanjay Bhandari’s allegations about the alleged payments that Thales would have made on his behalf, or the amounts that would be owed to him under an aeronautical modernization project,” she added.
“Thales will not comment further on this procedure, which is not definitively closed,” he said.
