Courtepaille is looking for buyers. The restaurant chain, now owned by the Napaqaro group, which wants to separate from it, said last Friday that a “major player” had positioned itself to take over part of the network. According to information from figaroConfirmed by BFM businessthis is the Angevin La Boucherie group.
The restaurant group has submitted a partial takeover bid for 9 of the 144 directly operated restaurants and 72 franchised restaurants, and has also committed to maintaining the brand.
The La Boucherie group now has around 150 restaurants in France and abroad under the La Boucherie, Bistrot du Bouchet and Assiette au Bœuf brands.
Other potential buyers
Other potential buyers have also positioned themselves to take over Courtepaille restaurants, whether or not they take over the brand, the restaurant chain said in its press release last week, without disclosing the names of the interested companies.
According to the magazine challenges, would be the Bertrand group (Hippopotamus, Burger King) and the Quick group. The deadline for the presentation of public acquisition offers (partial or not) of Courtepaille, which currently employs just over 2,000 people, is set for Friday, May 12.
Courtepaille had announced in March its suspension of payments. The restaurant chain, in deep economic and financial crisis, recorded a turnover 25% lower than last year.
