Pensions: unions “do not turn the page” and call again before June 6

The fourteenth day of strikes and demonstrations will take place two days before the examination in Parliament of a bill that provides for the repeal of the pension reform.

The unions invited employees on Monday to massively participate in the mobilization day against the pension reform on Tuesday, June 6, once again denouncing the will of the executive to prevent a vote on the issue in parliament.

“We are not going to turn the page: together, united and determined to win the withdrawal of the reform and for social progress, let’s build strikes and demonstrations everywhere on June 6”, writes the inter-union union that brings together eight unions and five organizations youth, in a press release read during a press conference at the CFDT headquarters in Paris.

Fight for “social progress”

This fourteenth day of strikes and demonstrations will be held two days before the examination in Parliament of a bill presented by the Liot group that provides for the repeal of the reform, which the Government considers unconstitutional and which it intends to torpedo.

The inter-union union, which announced a few weeks ago that it would make joint proposals, expands its mobilization slogan beyond withdrawing the reform, and says it is determined to obtain “social progress.”

He lists a series of demands: an increase in salaries in the public and private sectors, gender equality, restoration of the deprivation criteria abolished in 2017 to allow early retirement, expansion of the rights and prerogatives of representatives of environmental personnel. .

On the delicate issue of work orders, he endorses the CFDT proposal to lower the threshold to 50 employees, instead of 300, above which companies must set up a health, safety and working conditions commission.
