The CGT accuses the gas distributor GRDF on Wednesday of having fired agents in a discriminatory manner, after a long dispute over wages at the end of 2022, accusations denied by the management of this subsidiary of the Engie group.
“22 disciplinary proceedings” since January
The CGT has recorded, since January, “22 disciplinary procedures”, which resulted in dismissals for three of them, it being likely that another three will experience the same result, each time in Île-de-France, where the conflict was harsher, Cédric Liechti. , general secretary of the CGT Energie Paris union, told AFP on Wednesday.
All the people “who have gone through disciplinary processes and who have been sanctioned within the framework of the social movement are exclusively unionized workers of the CGT or militants of the CGT,” declared Cédric Liechti, who denounced procedures directed at “leaders or leaders of the movement .
The trade unionist mentioned files mounted on “acts of strike or completely false labor events.”
The CGT denounces acts of racial discrimination
In addition to this accusation of union discrimination, the CGT also alleges acts of racial and gender discrimination and bases its accusations on the recording of an informal interview, reproduced in a bailiff’s certificate, between a fired employee and her superior. hierarchical, registered without the latter’s knowledge.
“Never in GRDF has an employee been fired for joining a union or for any other discriminatory reason,” he insisted.
The CGT intends to organize new concentrations in the coming weeks to support the agents summoned to the management and to appeal internally the pronounced dismissals. He also indicated that he would like to take legal action.
Insufficient progress for the CGT
In November, after a strike of several weeks, the GRDF management had signed a wage agreement with three unions (CFDT, CFE-Energie, FO) that provided for a 2.3% increase, in addition to an increase in the basic national salary obtained at the branch level.
But the CGT, the majority within the GRDF, continued the movement, particularly in the regions where the movement was hardest, such as Ile-de-France, considering these advances insufficient.
At the end of December, an agreement had finally been reached for the 12,000 employees of the company, foreseeing, by 2023, an additional monthly bonus of at least 50 euros and that could reach 87 euros for the lowest wages, with which the revaluation for all to at least 200 euros gross per month.
