Home or office: employees want to be able to choose

Today, 42% of those surveyed work at least once a month from home and 36% telecommute every week, with a satisfaction rate of 88%.

Work from home but continue going to the office: two thirds of the affected employees want the freedom to organize and ask employers to care more about their well-being, according to an Actineo barometer published this Thursday.

After becoming widespread during the health crisis, teleworking was first forced and then “little by little organized”, says Actineo, Observatory for the Quality of Life in the Office, which commissioned this survey carried out from April 28 to May 9 with 1,200 workers who work in offices. .

Today, 42% of those surveyed work at least once a month from home and 36% telecommute every week, with a satisfaction rate of 88%.

Office work is far from over

For 70% of the respondents, it is desirable that companies equip their homes with ergonomic furniture and 45% would like the employer to help finance the costs (energy, internet, equipment, furniture).

Although a return to teleworking seems unthinkable, the disadvantages are highlighted: 45% of workers who telework report “greater difficulty in dissociating private and professional life”.

In this context, office work is far from being shelved. Actineo recalls that in France, 56% of people work face to face, and for 70% of the workers surveyed, the interest in coming to the office lies in maintaining “social relations of coexistence”.

The fact is that workspaces don’t always live up to expectations: 45% of respondents think their employer doesn’t care about their well-being at work, while this should be the priority for 84%. This requires the installation of user-friendly spaces or respect for connection times.

In short, 66% find it desirable to have the freedom to work from the place they choose, while 55% wish to organize their week as they wish, “without a fixed schedule”. 68% are in favor of a four-day, 32-hour week.
