Winter is approaching and the Government intends to activate all the levers to reduce energy consumption in France in a context of scarcity.
On the consumer side, in addition to encouraging small gestures (such as heating to 19°), the government has asked energy providers to work on the commercial offers available in the fall to encourage households to consume less. Engie and TotalEnergies have made their proposals.
According to our information, for the winter 2022-2023 (October-April) current private customers by ENGIE You will be able to participate in the daily challenges on days of tension in the electrical network consisting of reducing your electricity consumption by x% with respect to your planned consumption (based on the customer’s consumption on the same day during the last three previous weeks).
premium in euros
For each challenge overcome, the customer will receive a bonus in euros (visible in their personal space on the private individus.engie.fr website). These bonuses will accumulate throughout the challenges to constitute a paid kitty at the latest at the end of winter in the form of a transfer or check.
The consumption reduction goals, as well as the bonus amounts for each challenge, will evolve throughout the winter to find the most effective combinations.
To participate, customers must declare their interest in this operation and must give their consent for Engie to access their daily electricity consumption data.
On the side of Total Energiescustomers will be able to obtain reductions in their future bills ranging from 30 to 120 euros depending on their reduction in consumption (with a minimum of 5%).
Reduction of up to 120 euros on the bill
This operation called “Bonus Conso” begins on November 1 and will end on March 31.
To calculate this bonus, TotalEnergies will compare the consumption data (monthly indices) between November 2021 and March 2022 with the consumption data between November 2022 and March 2023.
The following scale will be applied:
- From 5% reduction in consumption: bonus of 30 euros;
- from 6% reduction: 36 euros;
- and so on up to a 20% reduction that will translate into a bonus of 120 euros.
Who will be affected? The marketer’s customers with an electricity contract since November 2021 and equipped with a Linky meter, that is, 3 million homes, says the operator.
The global bonus will be paid in April 2022 and will take the form of a reduction in the customer’s bill.
