Emmanuel Macron, traveling in the Ardèche, announced on Tuesday the establishment of a list of 50 priority medicines that will be transferred to France, or whose production will be increased, to guarantee their supply and thus restore the country’s health sovereignty. A plan that should make it possible, in particular, to remedy the shortage of medicines that has been increasing in France for several months.
These 50 products “for which our dependence on extra-European imports has been demonstrated” or whose French production is insufficient in relation to demand are part of a broader list of 450 “essential” medicines, explained the President of the Republic. Details of this broader list are expected to be revealed by Health Minister Francois Braun on Tuesday afternoon.
