Two models of Disney brand tap shoes are being recalled because they contain a higher than expected level of a chemical and a risk of DEHP poisoning, according to the government site Rappel Conso.
DEHP is a toxic substance from the phthalate family that makes plastic more flexible and is present in particular in textiles and furniture. Toxic for reproduction and easy propagation in the environment, since 2015 it is subject to an authorization procedure for companies that wish to use it.
Marketed between February and May
The first model recalled is a pair of pink sandals (lot number FCC-006021-22246), with the character of Ariel the Little Mermaid on the heel. Two strips of transparent plastic pass over the foot, one pink and one blue, embedded with small shiny balls.
The second model is a pair of white flip flops (lot number FCC-006021-22246) with a portrait of the Minnie Mouse character drawn in red on the heel. A transparent plastic strip with white dots finishes off the foot.
The former were marketed from February 13 to May 16 and the latter from February 20 to May 2. Reminder Conso recommends that you stop using these slides and return them to the point of sale or contact customer service.
