“Popstars”, the cult series of the 2000s, returns to Prime Video

After star academyanother cult show from the 2000s is making a comeback, with looser rules.

Following the successful reactivation of star academy last year another cult show from the 2000s returned: pop stars“The format that will make young talents the stars of tomorrow!” Prime Video announced on Monday during a press conference.

A press release announces that the jury will be “composed of the greatest artists of the French music scene.” No word yet on who will succeed Mia Frye, Richard Cross, or Bruno Vandelli.

The rules will be flexible for this new season: “duo, trio, quartet… unisex or mixed… with no preconceived goal of number or gender”, can be read in the press release.

pop stars did not reveal the release date. Originally aired on M6 between 2001 and 2003, with two additional seasons in 2007 and 2013. pop stars had notably revealed Mr. Pokora, who had won the third season with his Linkup group.

The show had also helped to publicize L5, winners of the first season, but also Whatfor (season 2) and Sheryfa Luna (season 4).
