The trailer for HBO’s The Last Of Us looks great, but the click sound is what really impressed me

It’s been a long time, but HBO’s live-action adaptation The last of us it’s finally starting to feel real. The premium cable channel’s version of the popular Naughty Dog video game franchise has been in the works for a few years now, with only vague details revealed here and there. However, fans were treated to a few snippets of footage last month and now the first trailer is out. Overall, it’s absolutely flawless as a whole, but amidst all the exciting and terrifying visuals, what really caught me was the sound of the creepy Clickers.

Based on this trailer from The last of ushbo strives to create a world that is visually similar to beloved games. The trailer puts Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie at the center of a post-apocalyptic process, and the two stars go great together. The writers will likely go with a premise that mirrors the story of the first game, in which Joel escorted Ellie across the country. Of course, they will encounter dangerous obstacles along the way.

The pair will face off against bandits and zombies as they make their way through the states. However, some of the most dangerous enemies they will encounter are Clickers, humans who have been exposed to the disease for a long time. Due to their illness, they have lost their humanity and attack anyone or anything within earshot. The show has been teasing its portrayal of mutated characters for some time now, and we can finally see one for the first time here. It sounds incredible, but it’s even scarier (and honestly more exciting) to hear them. Those who have played the games know what it feels like to feel a shiver running down your spine every time you hear that faint click.

Collectively, Clickers are certainly one of the most difficult aspects of the franchise that the series has to adapt to. The characters are so distinctive that it may be difficult to recreate them. Although you see how this is shaping up to be HBO’s most expensive show since then game of Thrones, the producers probably had the budget to make sure the monstrous beings were created efficiently. Add the voices and you have something really scary.

Aside from the creatures, however, there are plenty of other things to get excited about in the trailer. definitely stands out The last of us‘a star-studded cast, including Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother Tommy, Merle Dandridge as resistance leader Marlene and Anna Torv as Joel’s right-hand man Tess. There are also glimpses of Nick Offerman’s Bill and Storm Reid’s Riley, who is Ellie’s best friend. Overall, the visuals manage to convey a tone that video game fans will love.

The only downside to this trailer is that it’s a lot harder to wait for the show now. On the good side Lou fans should feel a sense of comfort knowing that series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, along with the cast and crew, have worked hard. For my part, I’m ready to be amazed by the series and horrified by the sight and sound of these Clickers.

The last of us It will premiere in 2023 and will also be available to stream with an HBO Max subscription. While you wait for the show to arrive, check out Gossipify’s 2022 TV Schedule for information on upcoming shows in the coming months.
