The biggest cinematic novelty of the week must be the fact not only Dead pool 3 has an official release date, but Ryan Reynolds has nearly the biggest co-star imaginable. Hugh Jackman will return as Wolverine, a role we all thought was over. Needless to say, fans are freaking out, but the mood of the announcement of Jackman’s involvement was very low, even when Jackman himself broke the news.
Hugh Jackman on Instagram posted the same video that Ryan Reynolds did to make the announcement. Next to the video were the same two words that Jackman uses in the clip to decide whether to play Wolverine.
This is actually the perfect answer because viewers who saw this video first wouldn’t know what Jackman was specifically referring to until the very end. Jackman and Reynolds argue so often on social media that watching the video wouldn’t necessarily make you think something has happened. Jackman saying “Yeah sure” might just be a sarcastic response to something Reynolds says at the end of the video. And then reality sinks and you go crazy for the news.
Ryan Reynolds is something of a businessman and actor, so he obviously brought his other business interests to promote this news. Even Maximum Effort, Reynolds’ marketing company, which was probably at least partly responsible for this video, posted it on a note that probably wowed many fans …

In a follow-up video posted by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman that was meant to answer questions from fans but was primarily a joke, the couple noted that since Logan happens in the future Dead pool 3 it shouldn’t interfere with the events of this film from a continuity perspective. This, of course, assumes that continuity means something. After all, this is going to be a Deadpool movie that breaks the fourth wall.
Another of Reynolds’ business ventures also commented on the clip. Aviation Gin appears briefly in the video. We see Reynolds filling a Deadpool mug with that stuff, seemingly looking for inspiration to think about what Dead pool 3 it would actually be. The comment probably resonates with many fans who are equally excited about Jackman’s return. Seeing Wolverine and Deadpool together on screen was something fans wanted. It was something Ryan Reynolds wasn’t ashamed to say he wanted, but we never thought we had it. And even if we have to wait a few more years, it is happening. This is what I call maximum effort.
