King Charles traveled to Scotland on Monday for his first official visit to Queen Camilla since the queen’s funeral. Dressed in a green and blue kilt and his calf encased in red socks, King Charles hurled at Dumfermline villagers who came to cheer him that he would have “joined his dear mother’s heart, as [sien]”.
Dumfermline has become the eighth borough in Scotland to achieve city status, on the occasion of the Queen’s Jubilee in 2022.

True to his style since he became king, Carlos III greeted the crowd for a long time, shaking hands, exchanging and laughing with the inhabitants.
The Scottish Secretary of State, Alister Jack, was also delighted with this first official visit.
“It is a great honor for Dunfermline to receive city status and it will give a boost to the city and its people. It is a great honor that the King and Queen have made this occasion their first joint official visit since the royal duel was the late queen who personally chose Dunfermline.”
Charles took advantage of his visit to Scotland to once again pay tribute to his mother and her life in service to the country. Charles III had already appeared in a kilt, watching over his queen’s coffin in Edinburgh, on September 12, four days after the sovereign’s death.
King Charles met with Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, leader of the Scottish National Party, a pro-independence party. The UK Supreme Court is currently considering Scotland’s request for a new independence referendum. In 2014, Scots voted against independence in an earlier referendum. But Brexit was a game changer in Scotland, with Scots largely voting against it in the 2016 vote.
