Five months after the death of its founding member, keyboardist Andy Fletcher, British group Depeche Mode, pioneers of synthetic pop, will release a new album in 2023, followed by a world tour, the first in five years.
Entitled memento morithis 15th studio album should see the light next March, the singer of the group Dave Gahan announced on Tuesday in Berlin.
First tour without Andy Fletcher
Inspired by both the pandemic and the loss of Fletcher, who passed away last May at the age of 60, the album will precede a tour, the band’s 19th, which will kick off in March in California, Sacramento.
In particular, the group will pass through France with four dates scheduled for 2023: May 31 in Bordeaux at the Matmut Atlantique stadium, June 22 in Lille at the Pierre Mauroy stadium, June 24 in Paris at the Stade de France and on July 4 in Lyon at the Groupama Stadium.
Live Nation will host a pre-sale of tickets on Monday, October 10, beginning at 10 a.m. before a general sale on October 11 at 10 a.m.

Depeche Mode’s latest studio album, Spiritwas released in 2017 and was also followed by a tour of Europe and America.
