The preview of Stroke of luckthe new Woody Allen, was disturbed on Monday night at the Venice Film Festival by protesters who came to denounce the selection of the New York filmmaker, but also that of Luc Besson and Roman Polanski, directors affected by the #MeToo scandals.
The protesters, filmed by the media on site, were seen chanting “no to rape culture” during the preview. While trying to enter the red carpet, BBC News evokes some confrontations. The protesters were quickly escorted out of the event.
They distributed a pamphlet titled Stop focusing on rapists (Turn off the spotlight on rapists) to denounce the presence at the festival of Woody Allen, Roman Polanski and Luc Besson (against whom the courts have just definitively dismissed the rape charges).

Woody Allen, 87, has seen almost the entire profession turn its back on him in the United States after allegations of sexual assault launched by Dylan Farrow, whom he adopted as a child, along with his ex-wife Mia Farrow.
