Jason Momoa and Coldplay turn Netflix’s stunning Slumberland trailer into an absolute dream

Dreams and nightmares can be fantastic scenarios to learn lessons from. We have seen this story told over and over again, and in the world of upcoming movie We’ll see it come to life in director Francis Lawrence’s Netflix original Dreamland. Is the big difference this time? We have an energetic Jason Momoa and a thrilling Coldplay cover to sell this absolute dream trailer.

netflix (opens in a new tab) given that last look Dreamland via the first full trailer for November release. In this sequence, we see little Nema (newcomer Marlow Barkley) struggling with the loss of her father Nemo (Kyle Chandler), as well as being sent to live with her uncle (Chris O’Dowd). At first, the two feel they have nothing in common, but through her memories of Nemo, the young woman is drawn to the dream world that gave the film its name, with an absolutely insane dream figure named Flip (Jason Momoa ).

Based on Winsor McKay Little Nemo in the world of dreams comic book, Netflix’s modern take on this classic dream landscape already sounds big enough. Part of the reason is due to Coldplay’s superb version of “Clocks”, which is quite well sprawled with a full orchestra. After capturing ours At first sight Dreamland during the studio’s 2022 lineup trailer earlier this year, it’s good to see how much more is in store in the full trailer.

Never say Jason Momoa is a badass, because this movie seems to break that stereotype in the best possible way. The boy’s inner child is on the loose in this Dreamland in preview, as her character Flip embodies the freedom of dreams as much as Momoa loves the color pink.

The best part is that the acquaman 2 The actor knows when to stop in his performance. Undoubtedly, we see a more upbeat Jason Momoa than we’re used to, but he never veers into the saccharine falsehood that some actors embrace in “children’s movies”. You can see more of this precision at work in another clip recently released from Dreamlandin which Flip establishes the rules that Nema must follow in the dream world:

Of course, it looks like if you include Jason Momoa in your movie these days, he could die. The frequent screen deaths of Momoa they are something he recognized in recent interviews, which means that Dreamland it might be even more bittersweet than we thought. Even if he does not die per se, the possibility of a separation between the dream friend and the child would be heartbreaking; especially with Jason Momoa’s Flip being so charming.

We will have to wait and see if Dreamland fulfill our dreams and / or nightmares when it opens on November 18th. This dream requires that you have an asset netflix subscription , so don’t dream for too long! If you need anything else to convince you, check out Netflix’s October 2022 schedule.
