Strange things has conquered the world, and TV program 2022 , stormy this summer. In late September, a Halloween exhibit in Plainfield, Illinois went viral on TikTok. The Appel family recreated the fan favorite character Max floating in the air during one of season 4’s iconic scenes Strange things. However, the neighbors didn’t like it very much.
One of the Appel family’s neighbors asked them to close the exhibit, due to the crowd it was generating. However, Dave Appel said CBS News They have received a lot of online support and are doing their best to keep the exhibit open to the public. Apple explained:
I can understand that if you are not comfortable with many people, or many people in the house at all times, it could be overwhelming. If anyone is having trouble with our screen, we want to make sure we can cut down on our hours. So technically we will remain closed until we have talked to the city hall and got every kind of green light we can think of.
Calls published in Facebook they spoke to the police department, their other neighbors, and other community members. They noted that they had made “unreal progress” but would have kept the exhibit closed because “they want the dust to settle”. However, they made it clear that the screen is not inactive or closed permanently.

Over the summer, Sadie Sink’s character Max exploded in popularity. This was due to a scene where Vecna owns her body and floats in the air. The way she saves herself is by playing a Kate Bush song through her Walkman. Lavello described how it was film the floating scene , and its relationship to the song. When fans started using Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” in the background of TikToks, making the song and scene go viral.
I think it’s great that these folks have designed a floating Max for Halloween. while we all wait Strange things Season 5 it’s a great way to keep the show in conversation, even if the neighbors don’t like it.
