Following a surprise announcement earlier this week, Nintendo unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming film during its Nintendo Direct this Thursday. The Super Mario Bros movie Highly anticipated by fans, this animated feature film stars the famous mustachioed Italian plumber who is voiced by actor Chris Pratt.
Rounding out the star-studded voice cast are Charlie Day (Luigi), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Seth Rogen (Donkey Kong), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), Fred Armisen (Cranky Kong) , Sebastian Maniscalco (Spike) or even Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek).
The Super Mario Bros movie is the result of the collaboration between Chris Meledandri, the producer of Me, ugly and badand Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario. Its launch is scheduled for spring 2023.
Mario’s buttocks considered too flat
In the trailer, Mario takes his first steps in the Mushroom Kingdom – the world represented in the video games of the Nintendo franchise – where he prepares to face his eternal enemy: Bowser. We also briefly see Luigi, Mario’s twin brother, being chased by the skeleton Dry Bones, a nod to the game series. Luigi’s Mansion.
The broadcast of this trailer follows the publication of a first poster of the film, this Wednesday. Although it offers an overview of the Mushroom Kingdom and, in particular, the aesthetics of the film, this official image has, however, been the subject of numerous criticisms by fans and specialists of the franchise.
In question, Mario’s buttocks. In the poster, we find the famous plumber, from behind, with a much less generous butt than in previous 3D models of the character.
“Remember what they took from us”, lamented an Internet user, comparing the two versions of Mario, whose message has received more than 500,000 “likes”.
