That said, the recent competitor e Shark tank Apparently Daymond John doesn’t see the changes as a problem, having previously explained how the magic of the show is still there.
I spoke to Daymond John after his release episode the masked singer and asked the business mogul what’s so special about the Fox series that led to its prime-time longevity. John shared his thoughts on the series and acknowledged some of the backlash early on with the format change:
I see a lot of people are upset about how they have changed the format of the show. But I think I make a show unpredictable, introduce new elements, involve new people, the skins, and I mean the creativity of what’s going on in this show. [makes it successful]. But also people who see other vulnerable people. I think it’s a human connection.
people are watching the masked singer for the clues and big revelations of who’s under the mask, but Daymond John offered an additional perspective that makes me want to revisit past seasons with a Hulu subscription . John talked about the human element involved in everything, and while it might not be the most important thing for those watching, it’s certainly a factor.
the masked singer it often touches on vulnerability, which could be anything from a celebrity with a hidden talent for singing that we didn’t know about or even moments of vulnerability in their career. Daymond John went on to talk about the vulnerable element the masked singerand compared with the successful series it is part of: Shark tank. John revealed that he liked the concept and made him realize that it is similar to what other people do when they come to his show of him:
On Shark Tank you see people who had nothing, who risk everything. Aren’t most of us like that? You see the people in The Masked Singer … when you take them off and take off your mask, that’s it. This is all they have. That little voice and how it can be projected. I hope you like it, but purely, the pressure is on them. I think people are worried. I think that’s what made the show attractive to me. The team, no matter how good the mask and all, was up to me at the end of the day hopefully make it.
The business mogul tried it in college, and while he made it through the first round, he couldn’t hold his own in the Battle Royale. However, John told 24 News Bulletin that his expectations for competition were low, so there was no hard feelings to lose against Harp.
the masked singer aired on the fox Wednesdays at 8pm ET. Season 8 continues, but now that Harp is officially in the semifinals, fans will finally have a new group to further evaluate the new format and decide for themselves what they think.
