The movie The Passion of Dodin Bouffant by director Trần Anh Hùng, with Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel has been chosen to represent France at the 2024 Oscars, the National Film Center (CNC) announced on Thursday.
This feature film, presented in official competition at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, beat four other strong candidates: the Palme d’Or. Anatomy of a fall., On the black roads with Jean Dujardin, gold drop by Clément Cogitore and The animal kingdom with Romain Duris.

The life and passion of gourmet Dodin-Bouffant by Marcel Rouff, The Passion of Dodin Bouffant narrates in France in the 1890s, the relationship between the famous gourmet Dodin and his cook Eugénie and their shared love of gastronomy that results in unique dishes that attract customers from all over the world.
Only five finalists
The 96th Academy Awards are scheduled for March 10, 2024 in Los Angeles.
