The message, posted in English and French on the royal family’s X (formerly Twitter) account, is signed by Charles R. and Camilla R. The British royal couple sent their thanks on Saturday afternoon “to all those who, in Paris and Bordeaux gave us such a warm and generous welcome during our first state visit to France.
This message is accompanied by a short video that reflects on the highlights of these three days in France. Arriving in France on Wednesday, King Charles III and Queen Camilla spent two days in the capital, a stopover in Ile-de-France marked by the state dinner hosted on Thursday at the Palace of Versailles.
The royal couple then flew to Bordeaux on Friday. In Gironde, she had the opportunity to visit a wine estate and an experimental forest, the last stop on his visit before returning to the UK.
“These last three days have been an opportunity to celebrate many elements of our special and indispensable partnership: from sustainability to literacy, from gastronomy to sport!” enthuses the royal couple. Who hopes that this first state visit is not the last: “We hope to see you all again soon.”
