Law & Order: Organized crime has found a fun way to deal with Benson and Stabler without going through SVU and I’m ready for more

Three Right shows are back this fall with a bloody three-part crossover but neither SVU Yes Organized crime they shared the characters in the following weeks. It’s certainly disappointing for fans of the Benson / Stabler dynamic (played for over two decades by Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni), especially after some footage that was released over the summer. That said, the latest episode of Organized crime it included an exchange that tackled Benson and Stabler in a fun way, but didn’t require Hargitay to show up and I’m ready for more.

The exchange was actually between more stable and new Organized crime Detective Jamie Whelan, he played by Brent Antonello . They were discussing the relationship between Kenny (the suspect they were chasing) and his old friend Dede. Whelan had a very good opinion on relationships, and Stabler had very specific experience to debunk it. Here’s how it went:

  • Whelan: “That’s what I don’t buy. It is impossible for two people to stay so close for so long and not sleep together. “
  • Stabler: “Are you sure?”
  • Whelan: “What does that mean?”

Allegedly, Whelan has no idea of the complicated history between Stabler and his ex-partner, and Stabler probably would have preferred getting a dozen more Brotherhood tattoos than naming Benson for the newcomer in this context, but fans may be pretty sure. . More stable. thinking about his answer … and why he didn’t even answer Whelan when he asked what Stabler meant by that.

And if you’re a fan of Benson and Stabler’s friendship as it is, you want to see Benson and Stabler get romantic, or (like me) just enjoy the drama of ambiguity between them since their return, I hope we can all be agree that this has been a fun and humorous way to approach your cross relationship. It is undeniable that the two characters are important to each other, but there are many ways to interpret Stabler’s words.

I particularly appreciated the fact that Stabler alluded to it Organized crime while most of the allusions to Stabler in SVU it’s because someone takes him to Benson to try and piss him off. Furthermore, the three Right shows could benefit from adding a few moments of lightness. The original story of SVU refers to “particularly heinous” crimes, while Organized crimeThe narrative mentions “vicious and violent members of the underworld”. Viewers deserve an occasional moment of lightness!

Sure, you might expect more nods here and there for Benson and Stabler as episodes are counted up front. SVU He says goodbye to Amanda Rollins by Kelli Giddish whose, whose dynamic with carisi It was one of the lightest and most exciting aspects of the three shows. But I laughed at that little exchange Organized crimeand I’d love to get little comments like this every now and then that don’t tease Benson.

To see how Law and order: SVU Yes Law and order: organized crime they continue to tell their stories on Thursday evenings in NBC with SVU at 9pm ET and Organized crime at 10pm Eastern time. You can again stream previous episodes of both shows with a peacock subscription and find more viewing options with ours Program of the first TV 2022 .
