Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, has been one of Hollywood’s biggest box office draws for two decades. But he wasn’t always like that, especially early in his Hollywood career, when he transitioned from professional wrestling to acting. He faced some rejections of the film industry, which brought in experts who told him to change his image and approach of him. He was told to be more like George Clooney and Will Smith, and The Rock revealed how he used that advice to change how black adam gas.

At one point Johnson was just a rising star, fresh out of his first movie, the mummy returns. Pushing for more acting roles, Johnson has faced harsh comments from some Hollywood bosses. He was told that his WWE character wouldn’t fly if he was on the level of Clooney and Smith. The black adam open star a hello america about how he used their criticisms as fuel for the superhero movie, saying:

I tried to think about the past times [filming Black Adam] where I felt really limited. It’s like you’re wearing chains. And people were saying, ‘Well, you can do it this way, you have to do it this way.’ For example, when I first arrived in Hollywood many moons ago, I was told that, outside the world of pro wrestling, they said to me, “Well, if you want to be successful if you want to be a star”, the most big stars of that time were George Clooney and Johnny Depp and Will Smith. So they told me: ‘You can’t call yourself The Rock’. Don’t talk about professional wrestling. You have to lose weight, go on a diet, you are too fat, you go to the gym less.

So Hollywood was telling him to get rid of any brands that the public liked. Denying significant aspects of his past would have made him less authentic and more pretentious for viewers who first got to know him as a professional wrestler. They wouldn’t get those occasional checks from Iron Paradise. Dwayne Johnson’s height and stature alone made him the perfect actor to star in action films like Jumanji following and Carnage. Fortunately, he was able to turn those early Hollywood games into a potentially gripping cinematic performance.

But there was a period in The Rock’s career where he dropped the nickname and walked away from WWE. Of course, at the time, it seemed like the right move if Johnson wanted to have a real career in Hollywood. He admitted that he fueled criticism in the beginning before realizing that he is not himself. Thinking about his early engagements helped him understand Black Adam’s story. He explained:

There was a lot of stuff like that that was said to me and if you don’t know it better, you believe it. And I bought it for a couple of years before thinking, ‘Now it’s over. And I will be myself and at least if I fail I will stop being myself. So, I took advantage of it, because a lot of those elements are the ones that surround Black Adam’s life. And the existence of him to be told ‘you have to do it this way’.

He wasn’t alone black adam an exciting project for the Hollywood tycoon, but also a personal project. The Rock seemed to find a kindred spirit in Black Adam which dates back to his teens. Much like 20 years of The Rock, bringing the character to the big screen was an uphill battle, including the fight for a separate film from Shazam!. Being true to himself and his character could pay off if these current opening weekend estimates put him in the spotlight. black adam 70-75 million dollars expected.
