The Weeknd canceled the concert he gave on Saturday night at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles within minutes. In question: a violent extinction of voice that suddenly prevented the Canadian artist from giving the concert as he wanted.
“It kills me to do it. I don’t want to stop the concert, but I can’t give you the concert I want right now,” he explained on stage at the Sofi Stadium. In a message posted shortly after on your Instagram accounthe has added:
“My voice left during the first song and I’m devastated. I felt it go and I had palpitations in my heart. My sincere apologies to my fans. I promise I’ll make it up. We’ll find a new date.”
Soon a series on HBO
This concert is part of The Weeknd’s “After Hours” tour, where the Canadian singer defends his last two albums, After hours (2020) and Sunrise FM (2022). In particular, a concert is scheduled for September 22 in Toronto, where he is from.
The tour was saddened by the death of a fan during a concert in Philadelphia on July 14. The man died after falling 12 meters from an escalator at Lincoln Financial Field, the stadium that hosted the show.
The Weeknd is also preparing The idola series for the HBO channel with Sam Levinson, the creator ofEuphoria. The series chronicles the encounter between a rising pop star (lily rose depp), and the guru of a sect (The Weeknd).
