The duo will co-star in a movie titled In the skin of Blanche Houellebecq. This will be Guillaume Nicloux’s fourth film with the writer after notably The kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq (2014) and thalassotherapy (2019).
Mixed success for his latest book
We still don’t know the tone of this movie whose title is reminiscent of the famous Spike Jonze film In the skin of John Malkovich. Michel Houellebecq has made half a dozen film appearances, most often with Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine.
Michel Houellebecq published last January Annihilate, a book in which he evokes the France of 2027, in decline and undermined by inequalities. Printed in 300,000 copies, his eighth novel was a mixed success, with only 183,399 volumes sold.
