Fans of horror movies are always ready for a surprise in October, discovering the new fears the genre has to offer on the big screen as they bring out the old classics. Halloween is undoubtedly one of the best horror movie franchises which makes this fall particularly exciting given the upcoming release of end of halloween. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode for a final battle with Michael Myers to close the trilogy, and the reviews are here to let us know if we can expect satisfactory results or not. closing on Halloween franchising .
between things we know end of halloween here’s what happens Four years after the events of Halloween kills , in Haddonfield, Illinois, in the aftermath of the 2022 pandemic. Laurie is once again forced to confront her past after Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell) is accused of killing a child she was busy with. With Jamie Lee Curtis, Andi Matichak also returns as Laurie’s granddaughter, Allyson Nelson. they are critical enthusiastic about the conclusion of the trilogy ? Let’s see what they have to say, starting with 24 News Bulletin’s review of end of halloween. Mike Reyes gives the film 4 out of 5 stars and says it’s a “bold and satisfying” conclusion that will get fans talking:
Going into Halloween Ends, I expected Jamie Lee Curtis’ kicking skills to always be in full swing. If I had had the film I was hoping for this screening, I don’t think I would have liked it that much. Instead of having Laurie Strode’s ending to Michael Myers’ murder, this final chapter combines that old chestnut with a more powerful motivation: overcoming the darkness that accompanied him since that fateful Halloween in 1978.
Aaron Neuwirth of We live entertainment agrees that fans will be delighted, giving him a user rating of 7. It assumes that for much of the first half you may forget you’re watching a Halloween film, but the second half brings the brutality that audiences want to see in several ways:
No, it’s not an art film in disguise for Halloween; he just walks at a different pace that focuses on the pain and the downtrodden who get more nervous in late October. However, this film is not without a sense of fun. There is a lot of humor and moments set aside for many viewers to react accordingly. A great showdown between Michael and Laurie also strikes in a way that harks back to the past and offers satisfying new rhythms. In fact, all the violent horror presented is portrayed in a brutal and varied way, which is usually what you want on some level with this sort of thing. It just helps to see some level of control on the screen.
Matt Oakes of Riots on the big screen gives the film a C + rating, calling it a mash-up that is unlikely to gain new fans, but it could be a satisfying conclusion for longtime fans of the franchise. The critic says
Halloween Ends is unexpectedly aptly named, taking a largely unexpected path to the conclusion of the franchise before giving up and delivering exactly what fans expect and want. The victims are strong and here are some surprising new ideas, even if the writing leaves a lot to be desired.
Pierre Gray from The examination of the AU also call end of halloween “unexpected” but gives it an average rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars. This review states that Jamie Lee Curtis is used better in this offering than his predecessor, and you must credit director David Gordon Green for making “a bold and unusual move “to conclude this trilogy. According to the critic:
While Termina doesn’t always feel like a movie that sometimes belongs in the Halloween canon, it seems she has a tighter grip on some of the motivational actions behind her bloodshed. Kills, despite all his shortcomings, had a lot of fun from the point of view of the blood, going far and showing no mercy as he killed as many people as possible, and whether or not they were related to Laurie didn’t seem to matter. . Termina has a more focused mindset in killing than he does.
Guillaume Bibbiani of the envelope says a lot end of halloween focuses on the character of Corey who looks more like a backdoor pilot than a continuation of the original film. He says:
Instead of providing new insight into Myers and its impact on the long-suffering town of Haddonfield, or its most famous residents, the Strode family, Halloween Ends simply offers a long, probably extremely padded tail to the story Green told. the film finally delivers some memorable bloody scenes, but the final conclusion is lame and superficial. Halloween Aneddotally Concludes would have been a lot fairer, even if the studio’s marketing department might have hated it.
IGN’s Tom Jorgensen wonders if David Gordon Green’s exploration of the deep effects of evil doesn’t stand in the way of a satisfying ending to Laurie’s story. These critics rate the film “Good” 6 out of 10, saying:
Halloween Ends concludes the Myers / Strode rematch trilogy with an ambitious, if somewhat confusing, final chapter. Despite scheduled performances by Jamie Lee Curtis and franchise newcomer Rohan Campbell, David Gordon Green’s broader exploration of injuries and trauma amplifies the conversation that began on Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills to a pace that tells you nothing to continue. with. There are some memorable deaths and respect for the franchise as a whole, but it eventually stumbles.
If you can’t wait to see end of halloween, without worries! The film will be released both in theaters and for those who have a peacock subscription Friday 14 October.
