Doctor Who Showrunner responds to rumors of Jodie Whittaker’s upcoming regeneration

The latest episode of Jodie Whittaker as the protagonist Doctor who it is around the corner and, as is often the case with doctors who go out, there is a lot of interest and intrigue surrounding your character’s spawn scene . Fans have questions before “The Power of the Doctor” about how it will turn out and, more importantly, whether the special will present the first scene with the new actor of Doctor Ncuti Gatwa (we are already in love with ). One fan theory suggested that we wouldn’t be seeing the new Doctor at all, but someone else, and showrunner Russell T. Davies finally addressed that rumor in a recent interview.

On the Internet it is rumored that Jodie Whittaker’s doctor regenerate in a previous incarnation alone portrayed by David Tennant . The theory, while unprecedented in the canon of the series, seems plausible given that Tennant is returning with the former co-star. Catherine Tate and many others for the 60th anniversary special in 2023. meter asked showrunner Russell T. Davies about the theory and received the following response about it:

I didn’t see it but it made me laugh! There are fan theories about everything, I seem to remember that there was a fan theory that Graham would become the Doctor, [and] that Bradley Walsh was a secret doctor in disguise.

Russell T. Davies said the idea “made him laugh,” which could imply it is a long way from what will actually happen in the Doctor who episode. At the same time, if Jodie Whittaker wasn’t going to regenerate into David Tennant’s Doctor and that was a truly ridiculous theory, wouldn’t she have completely ruled it out? Since the episode is so close, it’s probably best not to give a definitive answer on the plot details at this point, so perhaps her refusal to deny a theory shouldn’t be taken as proof that it might be valid.

However, one thing that might validate the theory is that David Tennant was seen as the Doctor for much of the 60th anniversary public shoot and nothing was reported about Ncuti Gatwa’s appearance on set. Also, reports indicate that Gatwa cannot take over until when the series begins filming for season 14 , which could mean he’s not involved in the anniversary celebration at all. It would be weird to introduce a new Doctor right at the end of his successor’s run and not participate in the anniversary special, right?

It must be said that David Tennant pointed out months ago that there is more to be done Doctor who60th anniversary of what fans saw during public shooting sessions . It is possible that Ncuti Gatwa filmed the 60th anniversary scenes on a closed set and no one has leaked the information that he is actually involved. We’ll probably find out one way or another pretty soon, assuming “The Power of the Doctor” places the next anniversary near the end.

After that, we’ll have to wait a long time before there’s another new episode, so be sure to browse our TV program 2022 find another science fiction obsession to make the wait for the 60th anniversary celebration a little more manageable.
