Currently one of the most recognizable faces and bubbly personalities on daytime television, Kelly Ripa has certainly faced her fair share of naysayers in the many years since her arrival. Inhabit! as a co-host against late legend Regis Philbin . The cheerleader dusted off some of her past ups and downs in her memories. Live Wire: endless news, and was quite candid about the difficult experiences she went through moving from acting to hosting, as she lightly dealt with the coldness she received from former Philbin co-host Kathie Lee Gifford. and then the first This day guest revealed that he would not read the aforementioned book, Ripa responded with surprisingly kind words.
Appearing on the not thin but not fat podcast (opens in a new tab) with host Amanda Hirsch, Ripa was asked about the recent interview given by Kathie Lee Gifford Fox News where he said he would not read memoirs after saying he saw headlines that spoke ill of Philbin. Laughing, Ripa replied:
It’s very difficult to sell a book, right? And it’s like the third week of the book, right? And I mean honestly, I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t reading any headlines anywhere. And suddenly all these titles come out and there is all this attention on my book. So I am a person who tends to take the negative and turn it into a positive. So my last comment is, thank you. It’s really hard to draw attention to a book that’s been out a few weeks ago and is now in week two, week two on the New York Times bestseller list. It’s like, thank you, because I think people reading the book will have a very different view of the book.
As the old saying goes, bad press is also good if it can draw attention to something that hasn’t been earned upfront. Sure, Kelly Ripa’s memoir was already a big deal with no one opposing it, but everyone Inhabit! the drama tends to attract even more attention, so it’s certainly reasonable to assume that Kathie Lee Gifford’s negative attitude has drawn further eyes to high voltage cable beyond those who were already interested.
Wisely, Ripa didn’t put her foot down with any kind of aggressive response and instead went right with a thank you message. Presumably losing Gifford readers hurts a lot less when there are hundreds of thousands of people buying copies in bulk.
When asked if she really thought Kathie Lee Gifford would change her mind by reading the memoir, Ripa doubled over, saying:
I think anyone reading the book will have a completely different opinion.
Ripa and Hirsch discussed Philbin’s general lack of negative headlines afterwards high voltage cable‘s, wondering what stories Gifford would see that inspired her to swear she wouldn’t read the book. The Inhabit! The presenter also touched on the strange irony of these topics which are covered in her memoir through a chapter that also focused on how to deal with situations like this, in terms of a propensity for an argumentative “media narrative”, or simply to leave it aside. . . . I think her “thank you” is a good sign that she isn’t pushing to escalate the fighting.
For what it’s worth, Kelly Ripa has been pretty transparent I’m not quite comfortable yet as a talk show host alongside Ryan Seacrest. And when it comes to reading headlines about herself, she’s more used to those who overdo it. the sexual energy of her and her husband Mark Consuelos . (And apparently he’s aware when fans indulge in ridiculous theories, like what happened when spectators suspected that his foot was missing .
