Things have definitely changed since Marg Helgenberger was last on set ITUC like a normal series. Now that the actress returns to the stage as Catherine Willows Expert: Las Vegas, had to make some changes in addition to getting used to the scientific dialogue. And apparently there was a security meeting on set.
Marg Helgenberger left the original ITUC ahead of its 12th season in 2011, so its return to the franchise eleven years later was a long one. In an interview with United States today (opens in a new tab)Helgenberger explained how all Las Vegas it is, especially with its size, because it is much larger than the original. And thanks to the glass that the set is essentially made of, there must be safety meetings about it, as he shared:
It’s gigantic, five times bigger than what we had, I still discover rooms. It is also super chic with all the glass. They keep it so shiny that a crew member literally walked through the glass. I did it too. We also held a meeting on glass safety. The key is to let your eyes adjust to the light before walking.
Hitting the glass is no joke and the show went to great lengths to make the set safer after a crew member (and Helgenberger herself, of course) crashed. The actress now has the experience to navigate glass sets and has shared a tip with fans. I wonder if there are any bugs from people walking up to the glass or wearing safety gear as they walk around the set, and what the safety meeting actually went to. It would be fun if the show released a safety video, because I’m sure the ITUC the fandom would go crazy for it.
Marg Helgenberger was announced for Expert: Las Vegas earlier this year following the departures of Jorja Fox and William Petersen. Seeing her again with CSI is definitely nostalgic and hopefully a sign that her Las Vegas the sequel series may continue to attract former students of the original show. For now, we can watch Catherine Willows hunt down the criminals … without any incident with the polished glass.
He seems to be enjoying himself Expert: Las Vegas, even though she and the rest of the team needed a safety briefing. Currently, Helgenberger is a steady character on the show, but it’s too early to tell if he’ll be returning in the season 3 event. premiered at the end of September).
As for the set itself, some shows that have been running for a while are known to turn things around behind the scenes and in front of the camera, so who knows if that huge glass-filled set will stick around? Maybe they can revisit the old set for the nostalgia factor. After all, even though the new show might stand on its own without a lot of connections to the original, there are certainly plenty of viewers who have come to see. Las Vegas after having loved the first series.
