During the last rehearsal this afternoon, Slimane interrupted his song. My love to edit the lyrics. During his a cappella appearance, the singer gave a speech for peace, as BFMTV observed at the scene.
“When I was a child I dreamed of music, I dreamed of being a singer and singing about peace,” said the singer to the applause of the Malmö audience, according to his words collected by 20 minutes. Before adding: “We need to be united by music, yes, but in love and peace.”
Tonight, however, for his actual performance, Slimane should sing as scheduled. An EBU (European Broadcasting Union) spokesperson interviewed by the British James Rowe, creator of the Euro Trip Podcast, stated that the organizers were informed “just before he went on stage” that “the French artist wanted (.. .) to save his voice and send a message of love, specifying that “he will perform as planned tonight during the final.”
We remember that Slimane will be the penultimate of the 26 artists and groups that will perform. A place that has not changed despite the small upheavals caused by the exclusion of the Dutch candidate Joost Klein.
