He is the greatest teacher of noon. With 253 entries, Emilien, the young candidate for the 12 midi hits on TF1, has just broken the record for longevity in a contest. On May 16 he had already achieved the earnings record, having collected 1,039,071 euros in his kitty.
It was his predecessor, Bruno Hourcade, who held the record until now, with 252 participations in the daily TF1 game.
Emilien has been competing in the game presented by Jean-Luc Riechmann since September 25, 2023. Therefore, in eight months he has never been dethroned.
A full time job
The 21-year-old candidate from Péault, near Luçon, in the Vendée, had to interrupt his history studies in Toulouse to dedicate himself completely to the 12 strokes of noon. Between filming the show and learning information about many topics, it is truly a full-time job.
“It was a bit complicated to manage both in parallel (…) I preferred to give my all for the unique experience of 12 noon shots“, he confided to Le Parisien.
Emilien knows the program well and has watched it since he was a child.
“I grew up with the program, which I watched especially at my grandparents’ house. When I turned 18, I tried to participate for the first time without going beyond the selections. I think it helped me. Blocked because I wasn’t comfortable enough, but my grandmother, an absolute fan of the show, encouraged me to try it again.”
