Soon after Vision of Wanda ended its run as Marvel’s first series on Disney +, rumors began to circulate that Vision would have its own Disney + series as a follow-up. While Marvel is yet to announce the series, a new rumor seems to indicate that the series is indeed moving forward, which raises all sorts of interesting questions about Vision’s future in the MCU.
In a recent edition of the microphone whistles , it is reported that a writers’ room will be set up next week to begin work on a new Vision series. Apparently, the series already has a title, which could give us a clue as to what the series is about. will be called pursuit of vision.
pursuit of vision was the name of a story arc from West Coast Avengers comics that included some elements in which we have already seen acting Vision of Wanda. In the story, Vision is disarmed and rebuilt as an all white version of himself and reactivated without the memories of him.
The last time we saw Vision in the MCU, she was flying after apparently restoring her memory with the version of Vision created by Wanda with the Mind Stone. Assuming this is where Vision’s story begins, the “research” in question could take Vision in two different directions. This could be a quest for Vision’s identity as she comes to terms with who and what she currently is. Is it really Vision? The question of Theseus’ ship could serve as the basis for a whole series.
Alternatively, we may see Vision go in search of Wanda. Apparently he died at the end of Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness, but no one actually died in the comic book stories, and we certainly never saw his body, so his survival is possible and we might see a series where Vision tries to figure out what happened to him. At this point, it’s hard to see a place for Vision to return in future Marvel movies, so seeing it return to Disney + definitely makes sense.
In its own way, since the Vision hasn’t returned to the MCU since then Vision of Wandaafter pursuit of vision it looks like it would basically be season 2’s Wanda Vision because you will pick up your story from there. It’s a different enough story that it needs a title, but when put together, it could give us a clue as to how other seasons of various Disney + series might develop.
Of course, even if this report about a meeting in the writers’ room is true, that doesn’t mean it’s a show we’ll ever see. The fact that Marvel Studios has not confirmed the arrival of this show, although Disney has made many major announcements at both the SDCC and D23 Expo, could indicate that this is more of an exploratory idea. . Perhaps if the writers’ room has a hard time finding a story, the whole idea could be discarded.
