NCIS is preparing for its historic twentieth season, which will start in a few weeks. Given that the CBS drama has had a slew of cast members over the years, there are certainly some characters we miss a lot and haven’t really been mentioned since their release, aside from Mark’s Jethro Gibbs. Harmon. Although, according to showrunner Steven D. Binder, another OG character could receive the same treatment as Gibbs, and this is chief forensic scientist Abby Sciuto.
Pauley Perrette played the coroner during NCISfirst 15 seasons. After a street robbery left Abby in critical condition, a new chapter in her life began and her fans have not seen her on the show since. With the series subtly mentioning Mark Harmon’s Gibbs since its release last season, Steven D. Binder told TV Line that they plan to do the same with Abby:
We always think about ways to engage [Gibbs] in a way that doesn’t tear the scab off and ruin what I thought was the only good start for this guy. I also want to start doing it with the character of Abby. I want to start feeling it [presence] a little more. I thought we were a little careless in not doing it [doing that sooner]but there are so many moving parts … But she is still fighting for the good fight and watching us, and she is part of us, and we are part of her.
The actress has confirmed in the past that she has no plans to return to the show (especially since the NCIS Alum has apparently retired from acting), so it would be great to have some sort of update on his character. Even though the show’s producer didn’t say exactly how Abby might have grown up, I’m really interested in what she did and how she recovered. Hopefully, you have been in touch with the NCIS team since you left.
Pauley Perrette announced his official departure from the show in 2018 on Twitter, providing a spiritual and religious reason to leave. Before her departure, Perrette posted a message for fans, encouraging them to watch her latest episode. Hopefully the authors have satisfying ideas in mind for any reference to her.
Pauley Perrette has been busy ever since she left NCIS. He called a sitcom on CBS Broken, which sadly was canceled after just one season. And recently, Perrette talked about surviving a stroke a year ago amid other tragedies in her life, like her father’s death from COVID.
As for his previous TV show, filming for the historic 20th season began earlier this summer, and Wilmer Valderrama and others were thrilled to document it. And just like the Right franchising, NCIS will start the season with a crossover with the Hawaii divided. I can’t wait to see him, but I will also look forward to what more could be said about Gibbs and the lovely Abby in the future.
Don’t miss the season 20 premiere of NCIS when it airs Monday, September 19 at 9 p.m. EST on CBS. In the meantime, check out 24 News Bulletin’s 2022 TV show for more shows you can expect in the coming months.
