“What happened to him was inevitable.” A year after Matthew Perry’s death, his mother, Suzanne Morrison, recalled in an interview with the program Today, broadcast in advance on Friday, October 25, of one of his last conversations with the unforgettable Chandler of Friends.
Suzanne Morrison remembers being “worried.” “Just before he died, I was going through a difficult time. I had seen him to show me one of his new houses. He came to see me and said, ‘I love you so much and I’m so happy to be there with you.’
“It felt like it was prophetic. I didn’t think about it at the time, but I remember thinking it had been a long time since we had a conversation like that. It’s been years.”
“I think he felt something. What happened to him was inevitable. He must have known and he must have felt it. He told me: ‘I’m not afraid anymore’. And that worried me,” he concluded.
Ketamine overdose
The death of Matthew Perry, found unconscious in his jacuzzi in October 2023, shocked fans of Friends and unleashed a shower of tributes in Hollywood. The actor died from a ketamine overdose.
Five suspects are involved in the actor’s death, according to US justice. A Los Angeles doctor suspected of being involved in her death pleaded guilty in early October in a California court. He admitted to illegally helping to provide ketamine to the actor.
Matthew Perry long struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. A relapse in the fall of 2023 pushed him into the clutches of “unscrupulous” doctors, according to authorities.
