A moving reunion. 27 years after the release of TitanicLeonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet met in Los Angeles on November 19, during the screening of the actress’s latest film, Lee Miller.
The interpreter of Jack in James Cameron’s famous film took the stage before the screening of the feature film to salute the work of his friend and former on-screen partner.
“Kate, my dear friend. Your work on this film is totally moving. I continue to be amazed by your talent. I continue to admire your strength, your integrity, and your passion for every project you create. She is the one and only the greatest talents of my generation,” said Leonardo DiCaprio.
“I can’t even look Leo in the eyes.”
Once on stage, Kate Winslet movedly thanked the actor before giving him a hug. “Now I can’t even look Leo in the eyes, otherwise I’ll cry,” he said to applause from fans.
A duet in the cult and multi-award-winning film Titanicin which they played Rose and Jack, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio later appeared on screen in The rebel wedding by Sam Mendes in 2008, a role that earned the actress a Golden Globe.
Kate Winslet currently stars Lee Millera feature film in which the actress lends her features to the former American model, who broke conventions to establish herself as a great photojournalist of the 20th century, an important witness of Nazi atrocities.
