After being successful in the fictional universes of Strange things and D’Enola Holmes, Millie Bobby Brown dreams of playing a real character. Invited this week to the Drew Barrymore show, the 18-year-old actress confesses her desire to play Britney Spears in a biopic of the pop star.
“I want to play a real person,” she explains to Drew Barrymore, who also began her career as a child star in the 1980s with Y. If Millie Bobby Brown also wants to play Britney Spears, it’s because “her story echoes mine.” Like her, Britney Spears was early in the spotlight and she wants to share her experience of “growing up in the public eye” with her.
“I feel the same way about you,” adds Millie Bobby Brown of Drew Barrymore’s own experience with fame. “When I watch videos of [Britney] younger or interviews, I see how you search for your words. I don’t know her, but I feel like I can tell her story as accurately as possible.”
Millie Bobby Brown, 18, is currently the same age as the singer at the height of her popularity. The actress did not specify if she had mentioned the project with Britney Spears. Haloed by the success of the fourth season of Strange things, which exceeded one billion hours viewed this summer, has just released the sequel to the adventures of Enola Holmes, another hit on Netflix. She is the heroine, along with Henry Cavill, and the co-producer.
