It’s been 30 years since Quentin Tarantino made his film debut with reserve dogs, and is nearing the end of this part of his working life. Tarantino has repeatedly stated that his tenth film will be his last, though it’s still unclear when that cinematic offering will arrive, let alone what it is. However, Tarantino explained why he won’t direct any Marvel or DC movies until his term as director ends.
as he talks to the LA Times about his new book cinematic speculationQuentin Tarantino was asked why he never joined the Marvel and DC movie pool, especially since other auteur directors have gotten into such action. Tarantino summed up his reasoning as follows:
You have to be diligent to do these things. I am not a day worker. I am not looking for work.
Quentin Tarantino is certainly no stranger to doing things managed elsewhere, as he demonstrates when he directed an episode of emergencies in 1995 and ITUC in 2005. Let’s not forget also that his 1997 film jackie brown is based on the 1992 novel by Elmore Leonard Rum Punch. For the most part, though, Tarantino directs and writes his own films (no, he didn’t steal the idea). Django Unchained by Kanye West), and as she noted earlier, it’s not like she’s in labor. So, as such, he doesn’t feel the need to bring his talents to Marvel or DC.
This is not to say that Quentin Tarantino never had the idea of making a superhero movie. In the 1990s, he was interested in bringing Marvel’s Luke Cage to the big screen, but ended up not doing it because his idea of casting Laurence Fishburne for the role of him met with resistance from some of his friends. Mike Colter has since brought Luke Cage to life in live action, but the superhero movie landscape is very different from where Tarantino came up with the idea of making a Luca cage movie, and now he doesn’t care being a “mercenary” for the Marvel and DC franchises.
Interestingly, though, there was a time when it was possible that Quentin Tarantino might have worked on another major franchise: star Trek. He had designed a new version of the original series the episode “A Piece of the Action” and Mark L. Smith of The Revenant was chosen to write the script based on Tarantino’s idea. Tarantino was seriously considering directing the film once it was finished. once upon a time in hollywoodand says his work in star Trek it would not count as his latest film, as it is an original offering. However, in early 2020, Tarantino indicated that he would not direct this film star Trek after all, and years later, Paramount is trying to get another kind of sequel stellar journey beyond off the Earth.
So the wait continues to find out what Quentin Tarantino’s latest film will be, although he has made it clear that it won’t be based on his own life, like what Steven Spielberg is doing. The Fabelmans. Once the film n. 10, we’ll let you know, but until then, keep track of next year’s movies with our 2023 release schedule.
