In this adaptation of a novel by Richard Matheson published in 1956, an ordinary man, faced with an inexplicable meteorological phenomenon, begins to shrink, without science being able to explain it.

Jean Dujardin, who has dreamed of directing this film for several years, teamed up with producer Alain Goldman, with whom he already worked on the series. Alfonso and the movies 99 francs AND The Frenchto give life to The shrinking man.
After the success of “El Zorro”
This is the second adaptation of The shrinking manaccording to a famous version filmed in the 1950s: “I see our version more as a re-adaptation of Richard Matheson’s book than as a new version of the film,” explained Jan Kounen in Première.
“We included quite a few important elements that were only in the book, that I had never read. However, we maintained the linear structure of the film, telling the novel in a divided chronology…”
