The writer of ‘Black Panther’ prepares a biopic of Snoop Dogg

This is the first feature film dedicated to the career of the famous American rapper. It will be written by Joe Robert Cole and directed by Allen Hughes.

To tell the story of the American rap star’s life, the script was written by Joe Robert Cole, co-writer of the films. On the production side, there’s Allen Hughes, to whom we owe Threat Society II which was commissioned by Universal.

Heavily involved in the project, Snoop Dogg will produce the film through his production company Death Row Pictures, an offshoot of the Death Row Records label, which he bought last February. The rapper also authorized the use of his music in the feature film.

“I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect screenwriter and the best film company. I wanted them to be able to understand the legacy I’m trying to represent on screen and the memory I’m trying to leave behind,” the rapper said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, rose to fame on the American West Coast rap scene in the early 1990s through his collaborations with Dr. Dre and his two albums, on all fours Y the dog father.

In addition to music, Snoop Dogg has also distinguished himself as an entrepreneur, DJ, media personality, and actor. The artist notably played his own role in multiple series (monks, New York, special unit, Empire) and appeared in films such as Training Day, starry sky and rabbit hutch either Day shift released this summer.
