The building is pretty much destroyed, but Banksy’s stencil is clearly visible. It represents a graceful gymnast performing a reverse time support. The support is the wall of a building in the town of Borodyanka, Ukraine, a few kilometers west of Kyiv.
Massively bombed in April 2022, shortly after the start of the Russian offensive against Ukraine, Borodyanka has become a symbol of Russian destruction.
In the three photos published by the famous anonymous street artist on his Instagram account, we discover the delicate drawing on the mutilated building. “Borodyanka, Ukraine,” the artist simply wrote in the caption.
The Bristol-based graffiti artist, who splashes the walls of cities around the world with his committed work, from London to Jerusalem to Paris, often vindicates his stencils by posting them on his Instagram account. The last publication of him dates from August 2021.

In a 3-minute clip, the masked artist thus revealed the making of A Great British Spraya stencil made on the concrete buttress of an English beach, depicting a rat in a deck chair, sipping a cocktail.
Estimated in the millions, the artist’s works are stolen, tampered with, or stolen from auction rooms. In October 2021, his canvas The balloon girlpartially self-destructed in 2018, just after being auctioned, fetched a record €21.8 million under its new title love in the trash.
