Tri Yann returns, almost four years after retiring, and three years after the death of singer Jean-Paul Corbineau. The legendary Breton Rock Group Reforms during the launch of an unprecedented album and a concert, according to West France.
Now composed of Jean-Louis Jossic and Jean Chocun, Tri Yann launches a compilation of their songs recorded with a swearing choir. They will give a concert in early 2026 in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique).
It all started in the summer of 2024, said Jean Chocun: “They offered us to direct a traditional singing workshop in the Jura with a mixed choir of thirty chor firm that resume many of our titles.”
Scheduled output for April
The choir, which works with the harp, the accordion, the cello and the bagpipe, seduced the two men: “It is much to the point, it sounds, it is harmonious, it does not betray us. On the contrary, they enrich our songs.”
“Jean-Paul would have salivated this project,” says Jean-Louis Jossic. “Especially since I find that with these interpretations, we rediscovered our texts, because they are valued differently.”
This compilation entitled Tri Yann with the vocal set Marie NodierIt will be launched on April 17. It gathers 15 titles, almost all composed between 1976 and 1985. A concert was scheduled for February 8, 2026 at the Nantes Zénith. The box office opens this Friday, March 7.
Since the beginning of his career in 1972, Tri Yann has tried to launch the Breton and Celtic music of his ghetto. The group has sold more than 3 million albums. They filled the zenith, Bercy and the Stade de France.
