The singer Nick Carter announced this Monday on social networks that he launched a kitten to prevent mental health. A way to pay tribute to Aaron Carter, his younger brother who died on November 5 at the age of 34, who suffered from mental health problems.
“I am so grateful for all the love and support my brother has received,” the Backstreet Boys singer wrote on Instagram. “In his honor, he just launched a kitty to help On Our Sleeves, a leading charity that helps families with children’s mental health.”
And the artist added: “Thank you for choosing to celebrate the life of Aaron Carter with this hopeful gift. By honoring Aaron’s memory, you are helping Nick, Angel and their family in their commitment to help others.”
An eventful private life
In a message posted shortly after Aaron Carter’s death, Nick Carter explained that mental health issues were linked to his disappearance: “We often look for someone to blame when we lose someone, but the truth is that addictions and addiction issues mental health are the real villain here. .”
Aaron Carter had a turbulent private life, which had made him a prey to the tabloids. In 2019, Nick Carter and his sister Angel Conrad had distanced themselves from his brother when he confided “his intent to kill” to Nick Carter’s then-pregnant wife. Aaron Carter said he was “stunned,” assuring that he “doesn’t want to hurt anyone.”
