The Cannes Film Festival “has seriously learned and determining the recommendations” of the French Assembly Research Commission on violence committed in the cultural sector, said President Iris Knobloch during the presentation of the National Team on Thursday, April 10.
The previous day, the president of this investigation commission, the member of the environment Sandrine Rousseau, described the festival as “the place of reversal of mentalities” on sexist and sexual violence in the cinema.
“You have a responsibility as a place. This responsibility is to say: we listen to you, we believe you, we will accompany you and we do not want this world to be structured in this way,” he said.
