Warning: BIG SPOILERS for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever I’m ahead!
If you’re a Marvel movie fan, by now you should be well trained to stay in the credits of one or even multiple credits scenes. In case of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, there was only one end credits scene and instead of following the traditional Marvel Cinematic Universe of teasing an upcoming Disney+ movie or series, the sequel went in a different direction that honored T’Challa’s legacy by Chadwick Boseman. . This is a great question. You know, I think in the original iterations before Chad died, Ryan had this idea that he had a son, who was going to be a father for the first time. If the first film was about a son dealing with his father’s legacy, the second would be about a father dealing with a son. And we didn’t want to miss it. And we felt there was a glimmer of hope that was important. And certainly the intention is not that in three years this boy will be wearing a panther costume. The intention was that the legacy of the man, not the hero, could continue, which we liked.
So even before the death of Chadwick Boseman and the conspiracy black panther 2 had to be rephrased, director/co-writer Ryan Coogler wanted T’Challa to have a child. Nate Moore’s phrasing also makes it sound like T’Challa suddenly discovered Touissant’s existence rather than being a part of his life from the start, although it makes sense considering T’Challa was one of the victims of his breakup with Thanos . Why Black Panther: Wakanda Forever presenting only the mid-credits scene, Nate Moore explained that from an emotional standpoint, he and the other creative minds at Marvel studios behind the sequel, didn’t seem necessary to include additional material to tease what’s on the horizon for the sequel. mcu. As for the lack of an ending tracking tag, we felt the story was complete and felt emotionally that audiences didn’t want that. You know what I mean ? I think people might say, “We wanted this! We definitely didn’t see the movie and thought, “Dude, it’d be nice to have Speedball at the end.” It didn’t seem to make sense, you know what I mean? It seemed like you wanted people to feel like they had that satisfying experience and not think about something completely new and different. And I like our labels and I like to say: ‘Wait, Eros?’ I like these things. This is one of the cases where it didn’t seem appropriate.
It should be noted that while Black Panther: Wakanda Forever didn’t shoot a scene after the credits, he joked that “Black Panther will be back.” It’s also become commonplace in the MCU, and audiences know they’ll be seeing more than just a few characters in the future. So those of you who love Shuri as Black Panther can rest easy knowing that he will eventually be back in action, both in and out. black panther 3, one or both of the upcoming Phase 6 Avengers films or another project.
